Hilton Grand Vacations Provides Nearly $500,000 to Support Maui Wildfire Recovery
Leading timeshare company rallies members and makes contributions offering relief to team members, residents and local nonprofits
HONOLULU, HI (Sept. 6, 2023) – Hilton Grand Vacations (NYSE:HGV), a leading global timeshare company, has worked rapidly to bolster Maui relief efforts and, in total, provided nearly $500,000 to support community relief efforts, as well as team members, first responders and residents displaced by the wildfires.
“The devastation that we have seen from the recent wildfires is tragic, and our thoughts are with the people of Maui, including our many team members who live and work on the island,” said Mark Wang, president and CEO of Hilton Grand Vacations. “Hawaii has always held a special place in my heart. I spent over 25 years living and working on the islands, and I’ve witnessed firsthand the resilience of Hawaii’s people in the face of adversity.”
The company’s support for Maui wildfire recovery includes:
- Committing a minimum $250,000 through direct emergency grants to impacted team members.
- Offering temporary housing at Hilton Grand Vacations properties to dozens of team members and their families, along with first responders assisting in relief efforts. Resort amenities, 24/7 counseling and legal services, access to computers and phone chargers and activities for keiki are available to team members.
- Serving three free meals daily to more than 100 team members and families. To date, the company has given more than $35,000 in necessary provisions, including personal hygiene supplies, food and baby formula.
- Contributing $50,000 to Hawaiʻi Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund and Aloha United Way’s Maui Fire Relief Fund.
- Securing $9,500 in donations from team members in support of local nonprofit organizations helping Maui residents impacted by the wildfire.
Hilton Grand Vacations is also encouraging its members to make a one-time gift of up to 3,000 points through Sept. 22, 2023. Hilton Grand Vacations will match every point gifted, which will be used to provide accommodation to team members, their families and first responders.
To date, nearly 500 club members have participated, gifting 1.1 million points. Club members can donate their points through Sept. 22, 2023, by calling their Club Services team.
